engine binding
Posted by ktop on Sunday, December 27, 2009 9:35 AM

Hi,

I have an Athern SD40 with a DH123 decoder with a zephyr.  The engine is about 2 months old and when the throttle is under half power it runs fine.  When the throttle goes over half power it sounds like somethings binding and makes a screeching noise.  When I move the throttle under half power in about 2 seconds it goes back to running normal.  I was wondering if I need to oil something or change a CV value.  Thank you for your help.

Nick

This sounds more like a lack of proper lubrication than anything else, especially motor bearings.
