I recently purchased a NCE PH Pro 5A system for HO scale.
It says the power supply required is a 12-18V AC or 18-28V DC type.
Question: Can I use the 10A 15V DC power supply I already have?

You might be able to get by with only a 15 Volt DC supply, but your track output voltage is going to be low and may cause operational problems. Use the recommended power supply. NCE doesn't go to the trouble of recommending a particular power supply range just for kicks and grins, they know what will work and what will not.
Yes, if you put a 5 amp fuse in the power feed. This is to protect the booster, since that 10A power supply won;t cut out until 10 amps, if something should fail inside the booster you could have quite a hazard, 10 amps at 15 volts is 150 watts - and I can;t touch a 100 watt light bulb, let alone a 150 watt one.

Congratulations, you've purchased one of the best DCC systems on the market. I have it, and it's awesome. Now, take the next step. Please take Cacole's advice and get the power supply NCE recommends. My power supply is from Digitrax, but to the same exact specifications. There are other power supplies available from Tony's and others; do some checking around. Then have fun when you get everything up running!
You've just spent invested a fair amount of $ on an excellent control system. Now is not the time be cheap. Buy the recommended power supply so you can get the maximum, safe, usage out of the PHP.
