Another loco question
Posted by mikesmowers on Saturday, December 19, 2009 2:08 PM

I have been out of railroading for almost a year and am now back in up to my neck. I have several (about 6) Atlas locos that used to run fine and now they do not. I have cleaned the wheels using the alcohol and paper towel method on my test track ( a simple DC powered oval) and they will run on the test  track on DC quite well but when I put them on my layout which is a DCC Digitrax  Super Chief they do nothing at all, The rear light is on at all times, I have tried different addresses and even 00 for DC but still nothing. Is it possible for a loco to loose there programing after being dormant for almost a year. They all have Digitrax decoders in them. I haven't tried re-programing them yet, I am in the process of installing a permanent programing track on the layout. It should be finished this evening. Thanks.     Mike

I'd suggest getting your programming track done and then place them on it and read the settings, including the address.  That will give you a good indication of where the issue lies.

If it was me I would reset them.
