I am attempting to install a TSU-AT1000 in my Athearn SD40-2. I followed the instructions and then realized it shows a positive and a negative lead to the motor. The locomotive only has one wire. The owner at my LHS (about 2.5 hours away) said I would have to solder a new wire on, but I can't remember where. So, where do I solder the lead to the motor?
The rights of neutrality will only be respected, when they are defended by an adequate power. A nation, despicable by its weakness, forfeits even the privilege of being neutral. -Alexander Hamilton
The bottom of the motor, but you have to remove the motor and isolate it from the frame with electrical tape or you'll blow up the decoder as soon as you turn on the power. Look at Tony's Train Exchange or Litchfield Station web sites for photo essays on installing decoders into Athearn products.
I got it. Thanks for the help.
