wiring a 90 crossing with a turnout involved

I'm building an N scale layout using an atlas "scenic ridge" kit. It's just a double loop with two overpasses. I have modified this with a turnout of the main that leads to a 90 degree crossing which goes to a stub end at a building. My question is; would the track from the switch to the 90 and beyond be considered a Y and will it need special wiring to avoid shorts in either the short run from the switch to the crossing or the main going thru on the north south run on the main? Hope I made this clear enough without being able to draw a diagram. thanks for the help in advance.

 No, a stub end siding is not the same as a Y or reverse loop at all.  No special wiring will be necessary.

Not in the traditional sense.  Atlas track is generally isolated and won't cause any problems.  Some brands solder the crossing rails together without insulation so the crossing is hot requiring special wiring considerations.
