Digitrax DS54 & MRC PROD. ADV. SQ. 2
Posted by Truck on Sunday, October 4, 2009 2:48 PM

I have got a DS54 the instructions show you how to program it with a Digitrax throtle. They also say if you are using a different dcc system check with their instructions on how to address the decoder. But the MRC instructions tell you to check with decoder manufacture to set up the decoder with addresses and cv's. What I need to know is has any one out there programed the DS54 with an MRC system. The DS54 is 4 stationary decoders in one. I need to program each of the four outputs to control Tortise switch machines. So I can run routes on my layout.   THANKS, Truck.

 Truck,

If the DS54 has not been installed on the layout simply use the Digitrax instructions to connect it to your programming track. Program the CV's per the instructions using your MRC throttle. Works the same as programming loco CV's. Digitrax refers you to your system manual because each system's throttle and programming steps are different. Basically, you select a CV# to program and then give that CV the value desired. The steps to select a CV# and writing a value to it will differ from system to system.

Follow the instructions on page 27 of the DS54 manual, which you can download from the Digitrax web site if you don't have one.

Thanks guys I figured it out . I was mostly having trouble with addressing it. From acc. #1, #2, #3 & #4. To #'s 5, 6, 7, & 8 on the output addresses because I have two DS54's. But I learned you have to pull the jumper out or it will keep addressing to the last acc. # you put in. With all that said I have installed it and got the first tortise on a switch track working. And it is sweet. The good news is I have only 9 more tortise's to install.

                                                                   Thanks again, Truck.
