My factory direct trackmobile just quite moving. Figured a wire came off so I took it apart. Everything tests OK. Reading it on the program track it comes back with nothing, not even 0003 for the address. Is this another one of those main track reset jobs. (After removing all other loco's?)
I do not have one of those critters. Are the wheels clean? How does it get power from wheels to decoder (i.e. wipers or bronze bushing)? Does the headlight lite? If you can not read the decoder it could be a loss of continuity to the motor.

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
i have two of them do you have a ptb 100 or similar device put this on the program track and . reprogram it to cv8-8 it may take few times then try it . if that don't work reprogram it on the main .if using digitrax use program mode which is po or pd .or follow nce programing instructions in their website or call bli service dept.
Thanks for all the ideas. I contacted NCE and they told me that the decoder in this model is the Z14SR, which needs CV 30 set to 2 to reset the decoder to factory defaults and address 3. After doing the reset I was able to determine two problems. One was the whisker wheel contact not make complete contact and the non-geared set of wheels were not rolling as smooth as they could have. After repairs all is good now!
Lesson learned back up and running.
Thanks!
In real estate it's "location location location". With DCC it's "contact contact contact". Always make sure you haev a solid path from the track to the decoder. A failure here results in loss of fun and a lot of frustration. Applies to DC too.
