Thanks for this advice. I may stay away from the Digitrax at least for now.

It appears that  the CV's are reacting to the new function location.  It is just that the 2 LokPilots react to the change to F12 by seeing on/off when the key is pressed while the LokSound sees the same action in reverse as off/on

Some of you may be familiar with Wolfgang Leitenberger @ the ESu tech support. Wolfgang spent a great deal of time & patience with me in helping me locate my programming errors to fix this. Wolfgang pointed out that Cv's 130,133, 136 & 139 were set to value = 4 when they should have been set to 0.

I really appreciate Wolfgangs professionalism and "above and beyond" attitude in rescuing me from my own stupidity!
