Function mapping on Soundtraxx DSD LCs
Posted by yankee flyer on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 10:39 AM

Hi

I have several Soundtraxx decoders, one was a retro fit, but the others came in Bachmann locos. I want to map short whistle to F3, but even though I set the CV up as shown in instructions, F3 won't work. Would that indicate the decoder is defective?
My DSD- 101LC won't map to F3 either. Does it not have function mapping?
I appreciate any help I can get!

Happy days  Big Smile

Sound decoders that are in new Bachmann locomotives are NOT the "LC" type unless you installed them yourself, but are a Tsunami if they are the "Sound On-Board" models.  Go to the SoundTraxx web site and download their technical reference manuals for the LC and Tsunami decoders.

You can query CV 7 to determine which type of decoder you really have by looking up the value in the technical reference manuals.
