I received a new N Scale BLI Paragon 2 and tried running it on my layout. It will run great for a minute or so then shut down completely and after a minute or so will power up again. I dont think it is my track since it does this even when its standing still idling. And I do have other Atheran sound engines that run fine. I am using Atlas Commander for power. Could this have anything to do with it since there have been issues in the passed with too much voltage from the Commander? Or has anyone had problems with these engines having shorts? Guess Im trying to determine if its the engine or my DCC system. Thanks
It sounds to me like the Atlas Commander is overloaded and its internal circuit breaker is shutting it off, then it turns back on after cooling down; heats up and turns off; back and forth.
