PROTO2000 DECODER FIT
Posted by fingalrailroad on Monday, May 18, 2009 5:14 PM

 Hi everybody.

my recent sd 45 purchase is running very well. I was wondering if aTSUMINE AT  type decoder will fit in this loco, where would one fit the speaker.

                                          Regards

                                                        PATRICK.

Yes it should fit perfectly (make sure to insulate the decoder). The QSI Revolution is another good option.

Thanks for the reply ,i am still at a loss as to where the speaker would fit,do you have to machine a cavity in the weight block.

You are correct.  I milled out a section for an oval speaker.  I currently have Digitrax Soundbugs in mine - they are a nice low cost sound alternative since I already had a Digitrax motor decoder installed.  That being said, the Tsunami or QSI decoders are head and shoulders better.  Enjoy.
