Hey Guys,
DCC can be tricky, especially to those who are scared of it. I have been in this forum about 6 months and think its about time that it is recognized that no matter how green some of the participents are, you pros treat them with respect and aid. Randy, whoever you are, you are amazing. You have forgotten more than I will know. All the rest of you pros know who you are and I thought a thread where you could chime in and just tell us your name and how long you have been doing this! A failure story might make some of us (me) feel like you guys are indeed human, because from what I have read, some of you guys are resposable for keeping entire clubs afloat! Thanks for all your help along the way guys! HATS OFF!
Doug
C'mon, Doug!! You'll NEVER get people to post to this thread unless you complain about something!!
Seriously, this is what forums like this should be renown for doing more of: Modelers - whether 5 months or 50 years in the hobby - sharing their insight, helpful hints, and expertise with one another. I am also grateful to guys like Randy and others here who share their wealth of information to those of us who are more "electronically challenged".
I do enjoy learning but don't necessarily always have the background or know-how to know exactly how to tackle an electrical issue. There's always something to learn, which is why this hobby is such a great one.

Tom, I guess your right! I just refuse to believe that they got this good without letting out the majic smoke!
Doug,
I'm sure that a few of them did.
tstage Doug, I'm sure that a few of them did. Tom
Quoted from several posts, including some of mine, "Don't ask how I learned this!"
Seriously, if people with greater experience don't try to be helpful, in every kind of endeavor, the world will grind to a halt. Thanks for acknowledging that.

I've let the magic smoke out of lots of things over the years, but amazingly enough, no decoders (yet).

I've smoked a couple, but I could never get that real hickory barbeque flavor I was looking for, so I stopped doing that.
