What sound decoder and speaker will be fine for a HO Bachmann Shay? Thanks.

I have a Soundtraxx Micro Tsunami (professionally installed) in mine.  Still working the kinks out, but sounds great.

Maybe you can order a replacement sound decoder for the Sound equipped version.  You can call tech support.  I believe they use Tsunami's in them.

Ummm yeah.  Good luck with that.  Bachmann doesn't carry parts usually.  It's cheaper for them to just replace the loco as to carry parts and work on it.

But the Factory Bachmann Shay with sound does indeed use a micro tsunami.

Bachmann does not sell the sound decoder as used in factory sound locos. Install a Micro-Tsunami and speaker. I buy my DCC stuff from the below site. Free shipping over $75.00.

Bruce is very helpful. Make sure you have a proper soldering iron  if you have never done any soldering. Practice first on scrap material.
