Is the Micro Tsunami by Soundtraxx a motion and sound or a sound only decoder?

Micro Tsunami is sound and motion with BEMF and .75 amps max current draw.

Max of two lighting outputs.  (Front and rear)

Thank you, Don.  It was professionally installed in a Bachman Shay.  Any idea why it will not program a new address or let me readback current address on the program track?  On the layout it has the steam idling sounds but will not allow me to acquire it to run, or use other sound functions.

That could be the issue, David.  As I said, I tried to read the current address from the program track and it did not read back.  I'll put it on the layout and see if it will respond to 3.  How should 17, 18 and 29 be set?

Sound decoders suck up quite a bit of juice on startup.  Programming tracks do not supply a lot of juice, so it may take a while before the decoder is ready to be programmed.  As a result it misses the command being sent from the command station, and programming fails.

This can be fixed with the power-pax programming track booster from Tonys Trains.

What do you wish your train # to be?  I will send you the appropriate CV's.  And do you want this to also run on a DC layout?

After some re-testing this evening, David was correct.  It is set at address 3.  Seems to work fine at that address, sounds and all, but I need to run it a little more before trying to change the address.  We'll see what happens.

When on the programming track

CV 1 = 2

CV12 = 0 (No alternate power source)

CV29 = 2 (128 speed steps, normal direction, short address use, no alternate power source)

Program On the main:

CV 2 you'll have to play with when programming on the main.  This is your starting voltage.

CV116: This is your chuff rate.  With a logging loco you'll want a high value.

CV115 is your whistle select

If you want BEMF, let me know, and I'll guide you through it.
