I have a CS02 station with the older eprom and need to upgrade it to the newer version.
Do you know from where i can purchase it?
I have tried about 4 times from the NCE the last 3 months, where they told me that they would sent it to me but until know they did not.I do not know why.
Theodore,
I'm afraid NCE is the only you're going to be able to get that eprom from. Since you are in Greece, I assume you e-mailed them vs. talking to them directly on the phone? It's possible that they are out and are waiting for more to be produced.
I would try contacting them again, Theodore, and tell them your situation again. Address the e-mail to Larry Larsen and ask him if he can drop you an e-mail when they send it out to you.
Theodore, keep us posted...

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
NCE is the only source from which to get the EPROM, but I don't think it's a do-it-yourself installation. When we needed to have our club's ProCab Radio throttles upgraded we had to send them to NCE along with a payment of $25 each because the EPROM is soldered in.
CVP's EasyDCC is the only system I know that can be upgraded by the end user.
My suggestion would be that you send NCE an e-mail and confirm from them whether or not the upgrade can be a do-it-yourself project or if you must send it back to them, and how much they charge for the upgrade. Either way, it's not going to be free.
I think you can send an e-mail to them directly through their web site at http://www.ncedcc.com
There is a very active NCE DCC group that you might be interested in.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
The eprom update is a user install. And NCE is normally very responsive, I would try to contact them via email explaining what your situation is and ask if they have sent you an update. There is normally a nominal charge for the update, I wonder if that could be the issue.

The problem here is NCE does not reply to email.

Sorry to burst your blanket statement, Jack, but they do. I contacted NCE back in December about repairing a Smart Booster that had gone bad. The same day Larry asked me to ship the Smart Booster to them, along with an explanation of what the problem was. 3-1/2 weeks later, a new Smart Booster was delivered to my door - FREE of charge.
My guess is that there is more to this story than what we or Theodore understand here.
Tom
With all due respect Tom, I never had NCE reply to my emails, the last one being last December just before Christmas. Others also experienced the same, apparently they prefer a phone call. Which is not very practical to me as I speak English with a very strong French accent and peoples have a hard time understanding me over the phone.
I now rely only to the NCE Yahoo Group for support.
I've contacted NCE three times in the last year by email and have gotten prompt responses to all of my emails. They use an AOL email account (NCESupport@aol.com), I'm wondering if somehow your email is getting filtered by AOL..

I sent my emails to the following (support@ncecorporation.com) the address that appear on their web site. I am taking note of the address you are given and will use that one if I have to contact them in the future
Thanks

When I got my PowerPro system, there was a card to send in to register the system. There have been two upgrades since the purchase. Both times I received a notice via mail stating that the upgrade was available as well as an instruction manual upgrade. The notice stated to send $15 to them and they would send the upgrade. I believe that there was an additional sum required if you wanted the instruction manual revision.
If you sent in the registration card I would presume that you should have received the notice, unless NCE doesn't provide the same support for out of country customers.
First of all i have to say that they did reponse to my email. And every time they told me that they will ship the upgrade in the next days, but finally they did not.
I bougth the command station used so i sent my credit card number to them to charge me the cost for it.
Also in the past i had ask a eprom upgrade for my power cab and they did send it to me free of charge, but this time.... is a mystery.
Maybe you should give them a call. I don't know what the cost is from Greece, but my sister lives in Germany and it's actually cheaper for her to call me (@ 3 cents/min) versus me to her from NY State (@11 cents/min). Don't call them on Fridays, it's a small company and they're usually travelling to shows on this day.
Btw I have also always found them to be most helpful and prompt.

The Eprom update install is not difficult at all...if I can do it, anybody can!!
As far as NCE customer service goes, they are the best. They have responded to my emails, and are always courteous and patient with me on the phone.
