I´ve just purchased a MEHANO Blue Tiger loco. The seller assured me that has the ESU Loksound V 3.0 version, but the booklet says that has the 1.0 version !!! It has only 4 sounds, and very weak lights. Dos anybody knows something about this? Thanks
Doc,
I don't know about a v.1.0. There was a v.2.0 (what I have in my Trix Mike) then the current v.3.5. I'm not aware of there ever being a Loksound v.3.0 decoder. I'd take it up with the seller.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Tom, the seller wrote me about check the deco version, in the CV 7. In my case, it reads "005", but I don´t know what it means. I´m waiting a real satisfaction from him.
Even Mehano's web site does not say what version of LokSound is in the Blue Tiger, just that it has LokSound.
Check ESU's web site in Germany to see if they have a listing of CV7 values to identify the decoder version.
David M. Bedard seems to be the LokSound expert on these forums, so maybe he'll see this thread and provide you with an answer.
I can't seem to track it down. You could always e-mail ESU directly and ask them which of their decoders is designated as "005". Keep us posted...
David, a friend of maine has the Lok-Programmer. It was impossible to read the decoder version, and seems it is the very first generation, along with the release year of the loco, 2000 (silver loco with a blue tiger jumping at the sides). So, too, was impossible to change any record. At this moment, I´m discussing with the seller, claiming he send me the new ESU decoder for the "modern and expensive" Blue Tiger, as I see in their web page. If not, you will know who is the seller, an all the story of mails. Beside, in youtube are 2 or 3 videos of the more modern Blue Tiger, with sounds and lights very far than my model. Thanks all.
A friend has the ESU Lok-Programmer. It was unable to read, in no way, the decoder version. Or is really a prehistoric 1.0 version, as the booklet says, or it is a cheap version made by ESU for Mehano: up to date, I´m waiting answer from ESU and from Mehano. Will see....and you will know. Thanks
ESU answered me that the Blue Tiger, released in 1999-2000, has the Loksound "classic" decoder, that is a prehistoric deco. So, the seller lied me. Soon, I´ll put his name here.
