Eureka!!!
Posted by chpthrls on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 10:36 PM

I bought and read "DCC Made Easy" by L. Strang today, and voila, it all becomes clear! I have been asking questions, going on other forums, visiting websites, etc., for about two months. It was getting to be paralysis by analysis in trying to decide first whether to transition to DCC, and secondly which system if I did. When I saw the photo in the book of the pile of wiring he removed from his DC system, bingo, lets rock!Smile                 GS

GS,

You picked up an excellent book.  Lionel does a great job of simplifying things without dummying it down.  And there's still some meat dispersed here and there for those who can understand the more technical jargon.  Like you, it helped me get a better handle on and my head around understanding DCC.

GS,

Its amazing isn't it? Circuits can be so much easier for me to digest as block diagrams and schematics rather than paragraphs. Im sure as I read many explanations my eyes glaze over as I teeter on the edge of comprehension. The big jump to DCC is really quite simple but its very cool if you ask me! The comfort zone I had with DC was hard to walk away from, and then there is the added expense you must decide on. All and all, if you want enjoy the sound aspect of this hobby, I think you are in for alot of fun! After all, thats why we do this right?
