The DSD's are sound and motor control, and the DSX's are sound only with no motor control.

The "sound" portion of these two decoders is exactly the same.  The DSX has only sound, and the DSD also has motor control and light functions.

FYI:  Internettrains.com has a horrible reputation for not filling orders in a timely manner.  If their web site says "available" that just means that they can order it for you, not that it is in stock.

You'll get better service from someone like Litchfield Station at http://www.mr-dcc.com
