Programming CVs with PR3?

When writing new values to CVs in PR3 mode I always have to do it
twice. The first time I enter a new value and hit write, the old value
reappears. When I do it a second time the new value then registers.
Is this normal or am I not doing it correcty?

I'm using the PR3 and a short programming track on an XP computer in my office and not in the train room.  My train room computer is Windows 98, which works fine with Decoder Pro but it's not supposed to be compatible with the PR3.

  The current production version of Decoder Pro(2.2) does support the Digitrax PR3 interface.   I suspect your Win 98 system may be rather slow running it though.  It should load OK if you have enough memory, and have a current copy of Java on the system.  I have a P166 laptop with only 80MB of memory and Win 98SE - not enough memory to run Decoder Pro version 2.2.  IIRC, JMRI is suggesting 128MB of RAM to run version 2.2.  I picked up an eMachine system at Walmart last month($297) with XP on it(1 GB of RAM) - it runs Decoder Pro very well.  First time I have had a 'new' train computer!
