Love my Bachmann EZ Command DCC!!
Posted by DONFLA on Friday, October 10, 2008 10:03 PM

I was in DCC before with a MRC Command 2000, one of the first ones. Nice thing about that system it came with 3 throddles. Pretty easy to use. never had a problem. Sold it when I torn down the old layout.

When I started my new shelf layout, I went for simple althought I could afford a more expensive system like the Zepher which would have been my choice. I don;t care about programming CV's etc etc.,  computor interfaces and all that other stuff.

I just wanted to hit one button to call up a loco, turn the throdtle and away I go. Hit the function button, hit the bell, hit the horn.  Hit another button and call up another loco and away I go.  SOOOOOO  Easy.  The sound works great on all of them.  Like a kid in a candy store.  Want 5 locos, 7 locos, can program a button for each of them.  Does it get any easier. To me , its more fum running trains this way.  I love it.  Maybe old age is setting in LOL  Don't want to deal with alot of buttons. Change this, change that,  I like it the way it is.

 My 2 cents,  DON

Don,

That's terrific!   I'm glad the E-Z Command is working well for you.  Not everyone has to drive a Lexus when an Echo will do just fine sufficing their needs. Smile [:)]

I used a Bachmann EZ-Command for 2 years and reaaly enjoyed it. I still have it standing by in case it's needed. Now I'm using a Digitrax Zephyr to drive myself nuts.

Have to agree. It is VERY EZ to use. I wonder if the Dynamis is as simple.
I'm getting to the point where I want to change CV's, but the EZ Command has served me well.
(and the price was most excellent!Wink [;)])

Can't beat a freebie, can you. I just gave another brand new one (still in it's packaging) away a few days ago to a chap in Maryland.

Hi TOM.

Not sure if I told you this in the past,  but I road the New York Central from Union Station in New York city to Utica, New York (where I was born and raised) quite a few times.  The trip thru the Mohawk Valley is beautiful. I have always had the thought in my mind about modeling the Station and Yard at Utica and the various service buildings.  Maybe need to take some photos the next time I go up for a visit. Theres a big bridge that goes over the tracks near the station.  I could get some really good photos there.

Jeff   giving the EZ Commands away????  Did you steal a bunch of them????   HAAAAAAAAA   just kidding.   I think I only paid like $59.00 for mine new. Yes   they are cheap but you know, if mine ever has problems,  just throw it away and get a new one   LOL  forget about fixing it.  I love the *** thing.  I think its time to buy some more sound engines.

By the way, my present layout is just a 2' by 8' point to point shelf layout operated just by me. So the Bachmann works great for me.

Regards,  DON

Totally agree. I have 2 on my layout. Take themtothe clubas well. Works consistantly. Bought a Dynamis as welland also very happy.

Because of the cost to get  items to South Africa, these have been very cost effective and value added items.

I have dropped one, spilt coca-cola on one,and after aclean, they just keep on working. Like an SD40t-2 or SD9.

Speaking of which, do you have any more of those trees?

Just needed a used DCC Booster, some loconet and I can CLICK my trains (Off the computer mouse) to do what I want em to do in the other room.

NOW that is easy.

Heck... maybe if that fancy Positive Train Control kicks in across the USA, I could let the train crew nap a while I drive it from the house computer over the internet.

The optimum would be to use another setup like the NCE power cab to set the engines up. And a Bachman EZ with power boosters to run things.  All Bachman needs to do is add extra buttons for function keys and they'd be all set.
