Having a long drawn out problem wiring a y. I have gotten the turnouts from shorting out and power routing the current by the gaps per instructions, I have pinned down the problem at the
turnout that is the lower part of the y. I have gaps before the turnout on both inbound tracks.
I checked the continuing rails that do not go through the frog and according to the wiring diagram it is wired correctly. But I have an A-B on the same rail at the gap on the inner rail comimg on one leg of the y and another on the other leg.
Also, what is the reversing section. the track between the Curved Y or can it be the track beyond the tail end of the Y turnout. Wish I could draw out my problem!!!!

First, to the Forums.
Second, you should really learn how to draw, and post your drawings, when asking electrical questions. You will get more answers. We can't even tell which way your wye is orientated from your description. Sorry.
The Internet is good for a lot of things, but books are good for understanding wirirng.

If you eliminate all the references to dual gage and the narrow gage loop, the sketch should replicate about what you have.
If I understand the answers I received to my question correctly, the reverser gets connected to the point where it now says "dual gage ends". All the dots shown represent gaps in both rails at the frog ends of the three turnouts that make up the wye.

last year i installed a digitrax reversing module on a wye of my clubs layout. the layout of the wye is similar to the one refered to in the previous post. the locomotive comes down from the top and curves over the first switch and second switch into the yard. it then backs down over the second and third switch onto the tail track then moves into the reversing section going back to the top of the diagram. the insulated rail joiners go on both rails of the reversing section just past the frogs on switches one and three. the insulated rail joiners go on the reversing section only. the reversing section works with the loco moving in either direction through the wye.

Many times we tend to make things over complicated, but in the case of a single Y, they are really very simple.
Your turnout connects from your main layout to the Y reversing loop of track. Shortly after the turnout, you need to insulate both rails - both on the main and on the return spur. That means 4 insulaters or gaps. You do nothing to the turnout!
Then you connect your Digitrax AR-1 terminals "Track 1 and Track 2" to your main track power.
The reversing loop of track simply connects to the reversing terminals of the AR-1. Done!
