At first glance, $74 for a turnout seems steep, but if you for example, but a Peco #6 electrofrog it would cost you about $23 for the turnout, then $15 for the Tortoise, a difference of $26 isn't that bad if this thing actually works.

You forgot to add in the cost of a stationary decoder which can range from $8-$20/turnout.It would be nice if they sold these minus the turnout so you could install them yourself and save some $$$. I also wonder what the lifespan of that little switch motor is?
