LGB F7 decoder installation
Posted by dan green on Monday, June 16, 2008 11:42 PM

Hi, Im trying to add decoders to a dual gearbox LGB Union Pacific F7A/B set and the instruction manual says:

"has two "D" gearboxes and decoder interfaces. It can be equipped with two LGB MTS Decoders (55020) using one decoder interface cable (55026)"

This is confirmed by the 6 dot star on the gearboxes.

Can anyone give me some tips about connecting 2 decoders to the 1 PCB? It looks like the interface cable can go to one decoder to set up the function and light control, but im not 100% sure about the track to motor connections from the decoder, do these go to the 2 rows of pins next to the current track/motor connectors on the PCB?

Is there any links you know of that give a tutorial on this kind of installation?

Any help appreciated,

thanks,

Dan

I don't own any LGB products, so I can't answer your question about the decoders, but would like to suggest that you move this question over to the Garden Railways magazine forum where there is a topic related to DCC, Radio Control, Battery Power, etc. as it pertains to G-scale equipment.
