I have a dual cab troller autopulse twin momentum 5 transformer it needs a the voltage regulator replaced in order for cab two to work. Can any one tell me what the replacement would be? The numbers are not readable on mine. I am sure it is an NPN but that is all.

Troller went out of business a long time ago and the failures like you're experiencing was one of the things that did them in.  This question came up a couple of years ago and no one had a schematic or could identify any of the parts as anything currently available.

We had two Troller power packs at our club with the exact same problem.

I remembered in "Easy to build electronic projects for model railroaders by Peter Thorne", he talked about repairing Troller packs. So I went and dug up the book...lo and behold, he talks about everything in the pack...but the voltage regulator's. Banged Head [banghead]

I thought I could help, but it was for naught....

I had the same thing happen a couple years ago .... a fried output transistor. I WAS able to get the part number off the transistor package only to find it to be a discontinued part. After an exhaustive cross-referencing search, the only thing I came up with was an electronics supplier in Africa that was more than willing to sell me a minimum order of 100 pieces !!!

The Troller pack still remains in the back of the closet ....
