If your layout is for DCC you can have a section before the turnout that you feed with DC when the turnout is 'wrong', the train will than slow down and stop. When the DC is replaced with DCC the train will continue to run at its earlier speed. See page 33 in the Digitrax Mobile decoder manual for more information. This feature in the decoder is probably NMRA standard and if so more than Digitrax decoders will work. To get DC instead of DCC to the track will need that you use switches in the turnout and a little more electronics to avoid connecting DC to DCC via the locos whhels. I have a solution that I haven't tried so I will not show it until it's tested.
