PATRICK
hi patrick here.
i have an nce POWER PRO system
patrick
Program a value of 8 into CV 8 to reset the decoder. This can probably be accomplished using Ops Mode (main line) programming with the NCE system you have. If that doesn't work, use the programming track and try again. Sometimes a LokSound decoder requires a programming booster but I have an NCE PowerPro 5 Amp system and use Ops Mode.
Why did you put Zero into CV 29? It should have a value of 2 to run on the default address of 3, and a value of 34 to run on a long address.
Patrick,
Did you try resetting your locomotive in Programming Track mode or POM (Programming on the Main or OPS) mode? If the former, try using POM mode. (Press PROG and it should be your first choice.)
With certain DCC systems, you sometimes need extra oomph when programming sound decoders. The NCE PH Pro is no exception. (NCE designed their Power Cab throttle to address this problem.) This may be why you aren't able to reset your Loksound decoder. Just to be certain, CV8 = 8.
Hope that helps, Patrick...
Tom

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
thanks for the help so far.I entered cv 29 as per book that came with the loco.this is where i am not up to speed ,it said bit function .0 reverse direction of travel 01.
in fairness to loksound they also say,if you do not know or understand what you are about, do nothing.
i will keep trying now that i am in at the deep end.
Changing a CV and changing a "bit" of a CV are different. A "bit" is only part of a CV. There is a way to change individual bits with your Pro Cab throttle. You need to get out your NCE PH Pro manual though. There should be a section in there that tells you how to access and change bits.
thanks TOM,I will try latter got to go to football now.
According to my NCE Power Cab manual, it looks like you go into CV29 and press 1 to access the individual bits. You should then get a screen like the following:
DIR BIT? 02:00PMENTER=NORM 1=REV
ENTER=NORM 1=REV
Press 1 to reverse direction. Keep pressing ENTER to accept the default for the rest of the bits. When you get back to the SET CFG? screen, press the ESC button.
See if that works for you, Patrick.
Can you acsess individual sounds, or do you just get the engine sounds?
It could be possible that you have set the decoder to 2 or 4 digit adressing, which ever you weren't useing before. That would explain the response problems. If I was at home right now I could tell you what putting 0 in CV 29 does. Unfortunately I am on vacation and don't have my LokSound manual with me.
P.S. LokSound in my Spectrum F40PH is great!
Good morning everybody.
