DCC & DC Block

 Who makes a block(or whatever you call it) that switches from DCC to DC. I am sick of how hot DC engines get & how slow and noisy they are on adress 00.

Do you mean you want to switch the track off the DCC power supply to a standard DC power pack?   If so this is called a DPDT switch and they are avaliable at hardware, automotive, and electrical (including Radio Shack) stores.

My layout started out old school, DC with blocking. Each block is set up on it's own Center-off DPDT (Double Pole Double Throw) toggle switch. With these I can switch the blocks to operate on DCC or DC.
