Auto Switching a crossover Question
Posted by SleeperN06 on Sunday, March 2, 2008 7:37 PM

Hi guys, I have another question about crossover switch wiring. I have two Atlas turnouts connected together for a crossover but I keep forgetting to throw back the switch after the train has passed through.

Is there away to automatically switch back with out buying an expensive detection system?

I already looked into buying a Digitrax DS64 & BD4, but I don’t want the expense right now. I was thinking of a delayed reed switch activated as the last car passes through to momentary activate the snap switch or maybe an adjustable time-delay relay.

I have a portable layout and I’m using the Atlas remote switches because I don’t want anything hanging underneath that could be broke off.

Thanks, JohnnyB
