PSX-ARSC OK for Kato?
Posted by rsovitzky on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 2:16 PM
Is the PSX-ARSC auto-reverser (Tony's Trains, now DCC Specialties) OK to use with Kato turnouts? I believe Kato is snap-coil type, right?

The type of turnout you're using has nothing to do with an auto-reverser unless they (the turnouts) are power routing and you don't properly insulate them from the section of track connected to the PSX.

I think you misunderstood the intent of my question.

The PSX can control a turnout involved in the reversing loop. So it IS important to know what type of actuator is used for the turnout - snap coil vs tortoise-type.

I worked for Tony at the Springfield show and he was showing off a Unitrak layout with the PSX-AR and tortoses, I don't know how he put tortoise motor on Unitrak though.
