The red light used as a marker would only be on if that end of the B unit was the last part of the train. In other words if the AB set is being used as a helper and the A unit is couple to the caboose shoving and the B unit is the rear of the train. Or it the AB set was running engine light with the B unit trailing, it would be the rear of the train. Any other location in the train and the red light would be off.
The only time a bell or horn would be used on a B unit is when it is being moved by itself.
