This is the kind of information that can be gleaned from Morning Sun color photo book captions, so your own library may already have this info in scattered form.  Also there is an excellent historical society dedicated to the ATSF and I'd be pretty surprised if past issues of their magazine have not delved into steam assignments.   https://sfrhms.org/

ATSF Motive Power Assignments in the 50s?
Posted by Mjorstad on Sunday, January 26, 2020 11:25 AM

Where can I find Motive Power Assignment data for the Santa Fe in the late '40s/early '50s?  Hoping to get some information on where their larger steam locomotives were displaced towards the end of their lifetimes.  I understand most were concentrated towards east of Belen, but I'm looking for more detail on the Albuquerque division (west of Belen, east of Seligman) in particular.  If anyone could share this info or knows where I can find it, I'd greatly appreciate it.  Thank you!
