My question is basically this: Would the HO scale dumpster model offered by Alloy Forms be appropraite for 1954?

I looked on Wikipedia and other sources. All I can find is that dumpsters were introduced in the mid 1930s, popularized after WW2, and standardized (for fork pocket spacing and height) sometime later.
I cannot find any pictures of early designs, or designs/styles with dates attached to them.
I guess the dumpster historians don't have a very good society.
Any thoughts?

I -think- that the older ones were quite a bit larger, that they were designed for six [or so] homes, while the later ones are small, and designed for single homes only ..
At least that's they way they went up here, older yellow steel ones, newer small green plastic [on wheels] newer ones ..
I see their web site has one sitting on a 1955 Autocar truck. I dunno, I don't remember dumpsters as a kid.
As far as home trash, it was burned in a burning barrel out back, or taken to the local dump.

From what I can find (and remember) I think the first dumpsters in the 1930's were used for industrial projects, like removing refuse from a building remodel or demolition. The more residential / commercial (like restaurants or schools etc.) dumpsters came along later, in the 1950's.
