angelob6660 Does anyone knows what year CSX painted their covered hoppers in tan?

In the 80s if you want patch jobs..CSX kept the tan and gray colors for covered hoppers and hasn't really change since then.

The reason you think it won't help you, your looking in the wrong place. You have to look at the build dates, from the pic description. the first hopper was built in 1984, for instance, with that color.
I was in CSXI, but I know that color was out in the early 80's. Those pic's are from the Archive's.

Edit: And Dan Stokes, is correct. CSX is Chessie System, SCL, FEC, B&O, C&O and more.
Can't say a specific year, but if it's the same tan color I'm thinking about, it definitely pre-dates CSX and was prevalent in the Family Lines days. I was able to find this photo of a covered hopper from 1980 that appears to be painted tan, in pre-Family Lines SCL lettering. Also, I can't verify the prototypical accuracy of this Atlas N-scale model, but it's also lettered for pre-Family Lines SCL as well.
If you need more specifics, try contacting the ACL-SAL Historical Society. They may be able to help.

I know about this website. The car pictures are taken in sometimes mid 2000s (06-present) that doesn't help me. I would like a actually year.
Amtrak America, 1971-Present.
Angelo6660,
Maybe you can cipher some info from this site from the car numbers, they have pic's and build dates on them in the descriptions:
