For those of you who might want to see an entire train, while running an errand on my lunch break last week, I happened to be going over the 10th st viaduct in Omaha and caught the UP MKCCP-06 train passing under. Since I had good light and "model railroad" vantage point I decided to take a picture of every car.
MKCCP-06 is 3 units, 12700 hp, 42 loads, 73 empties, 7455 gross tons, 7301 ft.
For those discussing home road cars, note that only 36 of 115 cars are railroad owned and only 8 of 36 (115) are home road cars (UP, CNW, SP, MP, ARMN, CHTT).
Enjoy.
The 10th St viaduct is in Omaha, NE, it connects the former UP Omaha Union Station (now the Durham Western Heritage Museum) and the ex-CB&Q station (which is the basis of the Walthers Union Station model). The photos were taken about noon, May 6th.
