Dan-- The red-and-scarlet "bloody nose" scheme was first applied in 1958, and it became the system standard for all diesels. The only RS3s on the system were assigned to SSW. In the 1965 system renumbering they became SSW 2800-2816. Before that time they were numbered in the SSW 300-series. --John
