Coal loader plans?

I'm making a 2x7ft diarama/layout and the focus it will be a modern(post 1970?) Appalachian Coal Loader such as the one in Myra, KY. Does anyone know of a place that would have info on the I-beam by I-beam construction of one? Since most of the "guts" are covered up by sheet metal siding, the inside construction is pretty much concealed. Info on the discharge chute operation? Any information on the various workings and operations (such as the use for the stradle crane on top) would also be appreciated. Thanks.

Why not contact one of the coal mines and see if you they would sell you some blueprints. Most machinery comes with a full set of prints. If you know the manuacturer they might help you also. Be prepared when I did this several years ago the company I wanted information from was very helpful and wanted me to make them some models for shows. I had to decline due to my level of other involvement. They will generally pay some big bucks also.

I looked up some contact info for Premier Elkhorn, a subsidiary of TECO coal, which operates the mine. This is a sales contact, but I'm sure that he can connect you with someone in the engineering group.
