seeking transfer bridge info
Posted by BruceJob on Saturday, November 22, 2003 2:42 PM
Hi, all...

I'm researching info on the transfer bridges at Greenville yard, Jersey CIty, NJ for an HO model of the structure. A transfer bridge, also referred to as a float bridge, is used to move railcars on and off carfloats, barges designed to carry railcars.

I've found a few websites with photos, but most seem to be long shots. Close-ups would be very helpful, as would plans or drawings. Any info would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

Best Regards,

Bruce J.

On of the MR layout series featured a float bridge. I would guess it was the Kinicinick dock and railway in the early 70's. It even talked about how to build it.
