CSX Early colours?

<P>In the June 1987 issue of Model Railroader, Mark Danneman did a Paint Shop article on painting up an HO B30-7 in exactly that blue-and-grey CSX scheme. I remember reading he had to mix his own shade of blue, but the grey was one of the stock Floquil colors (the same grey used for L&N/Family Lines locos if I remember right). The decal set he used was made by Herald King (the only ones available back then), but I think Microscale these days also has a set available.</P> <P>That blue does not look like the same shade as the one used in the newer Bright Future and Dark Future schemes, so you will have to mix it yourself. And when you mix it, you want it to match the color of the billboard-large CSX-letter decals.</P> <P> </P>
