This car was used to transport Chevrolet Vegas in the early 1970's.The sides of the car would lower,Vegas were driven and locked on the cars side and the sides were raised up,so the Vegas were transported verticaly.A mechanical engineer on the Trains.com forum desires more details about the Vert-A-Pak auto transporter,I remember reading about it in an old issue of MR or RMC but I can't remember the magazines date. The October 1971 Model Railroader, page 51 to page 55 had info, pictures, and a 1/4" scale drawing. I have recollections of coverage in a Car Builder's Cyclopedia of the era but don't have it here to verify.
