what it is the distance between two cars? Therre is some curved is closed for long car for exemple a 53 foot car? [8D]

Depends on what type car(s) you're talking about. Most passenger cars are close coupled, and have a closed passage way between them, called the diaphram, so passengers can go from one car to another while the train is in motion. On the other extreme, long cars with a certain type of cushion underframe can be widely spaced, mainly due to the cushioning mechanism. That would be just North America, not sure about Europe.

I'm asking for a 40 foot box car for exemple. I built covered hopper but I d'ont know the distance betwen to car for install the coupler. I'm french, in France hall cars are close coupled. the freight car (wagon in france) and the passanger car (voiture in france) are close coupled.
