Looking for these kits
Posted by rstaller on Sunday, March 5, 2006 10:25 PM
I'm on a search again for a couple of retired Walthers kits. I got on the forum a while back, and was steered to the out of production diesel transfer table and extensions sucessfully. Now I'm looking for the following;

1 Walthers Backshop and accessories
2 Walthers Carshop and accessories
3 Walthers Allied Rail Rebuilders
4 Any NKP decal sets
If anyone knows of these kits hanging around their local hobby shops, or other sources please respond here, or to
randystaller@hotmail
Thanks in advance

I was just at Tommy Gilberts Hobby Shop in Gettysburg, Pa. last Friday and he had some older Walthers Kits on the shelf. You might want to give him a call. He advertises in Model Railroader Magazine. [:)] Jim

You may also want to check with English's Model Railroad Supply in Montoursville, PA, and Central Hobby Supply in Syracuse, NY. They both have good supplies of kits, and are MR advertisers.

As for the decals, Microscale produces NKP decals, and you can still buy Champ decals directly from the manufacturer as well as from some hobby shops. You may also be able to pick up decals and some kits from eBay, but of course that's a hit-or-miss proposition.

Good luck!

Randy, I could be mistaken, but I believe the Allied Rail Rebuilders is still an active kit.

What are you looking for specifically? My NKP decal list has 79 discrete sets, most printed in multiple scales. Since the listing was generated (2005) I've run across at least three private run sets that have been printed, as well as a few in development.

I'll email you the list shortly.
