NYC Question
Posted by Sunset Limited on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 8:31 PM
I just recently purchased a BLI J1-E, 4-8-4 Hudson. (What a beautiful steam locomotive! [^]). I don't know much about NYC and looking to get the right passenger cars for it. Which passenger cars did they run with? [%-)]

1) Heavyweight- solid dark green color
2) Heavyweight- two tone grey scheme
3) Streamline- two tone grey
4) Streamline- corrigated sides, silver scheme

Ok, first, I'll be the pain-in-the-butt nitpicker....Hudsons are 4-6-4's, but we'll call it a typo and move on......

I believe that the Hudsons pulled all of the above, with the possible exception of 2-tone grey streamlined cars. And corrugated side stainless steel cars were probably only pulled by the streamlined Hudsons on the Empire State Express.

bwilcox,
You're correct! I'm so starstruck with this steamer that I included an additional 2 sets of wheels! [banghead] I'm looking into purchasing the Walthers heavyweight passenger cars or the Branchline heavyweights. Thanks for the info![:D]
