PRR Bridge specifications?

I was wondering if the PRR had any specifications for building trestle and stone arch bridges, and if anyone knew what they were. Spcifically, material sizes and span width, bridge width, stuff like that. I'm going to scratchbuild a stone arch bridge and a trestle and would like them to be as prototypical as possible. thanks, Josh

I would be willing to bet the farm they did since they had standards for everything else. Unfortunately I don't have any drawing references but suggest you send an e-mail to listmaster@dsop.com with the subject subscribe to PRR-talk. Once you are subscribed (no cost) you can post your question there and there are some real experts on line including Bill Volkmer and Dan Cupper as well as the President of the historical society and several ex maintenance people.

There is a pair of new books out that deal with some of these types of PRR structures among others. Trackside on the PRR, has 2 volumes that cover a series of towers and other equipment. Should check these out. Run about $16 each and are paperback large size.
