Just checked the 1943 timetable on the Railroads of Madison County website but only found two trains each way daily, The Ponce de Leon & Michigan Special and the Ponce de Leon and the Ohio Special.
Sorry, wish I could be of more help.

PS - Just happened to think, the station stops would likely be the same. It's Table 27 on http://madisonrails.railfan.net/1943tt/page35.gif

What you're asking about would be the Motor City to Queen City train. I don't know if that was an actual 'named train'.

The NYC Big Four operated the Motor Queen in 1929 and the cars were lettered for the New York central. The five car consist was powered by a Pacific and the cars were painted Blue with a Cream window band. The five cars were a Club Smoking car, two coaches, a dining Lounge and Open Platform Observation with living room lounge type seating.
The train was a victim of the great depression but was one of America's first deluxe coach trains. Being 1929 all cars were heavyweights but rode on four axle trucks.
Schedule between Detroit and Cincinnati was 6 hours 45 minutes each way for the 270 mile route. When I have more time I will look up the ciies served by the train. Hope this information helps.

Thank you for your help and info. This is great info. I have not been able to dig up any info to speak of. Rivarossi made a 4 car set painted brown and cream, lettered for "CCC&StL", NYC Lines. I assumed part of Michigan Central, and I was informed "Nickel Plate RR" was involved somewhere. Confusing?!?[:o)]

If you mean that the Big Four was a part of the Michigan Central, they weren't. Both became part of the NYC, but were different companies.

NKP was controlled ny the NYC at one point or another. This wasn't unusual for railroads as N&W was controlled by the Pennsy at one point, but now as NS has much of the old PRR trackage. :)
