MEC yellow

Anyone have a match for the yellow used with Microscale decal 87-958 for the MEC diesels. Trying to find a close match for the yellow for a RS3, yellow cab, have seen a couple finished products but the yellow is far from a match. Anyone with ideas or luck on matching. Jim

Accupaint MEC Harvest Yellow is probably a good match, if you can find any. Pretty sure Central Hobby Supply in Syracuse had some the last time I was there, but that was months ago.

You can also get PollyScale MEC Harvest Yellow. Guess it just depends on whether you prefer acrylics to solvent-based paint, and/or flat or semigloss finishes on your paint. Either way, good luck on your project!

Jim,
Welcome to the MR Forums !
You also might want to try the mix of Floquil Reefer Yellow and Reefer Orange suggested in the Bill Havrilla color mixes at the bottom of the JAShaw Web site:

Hope this helps.

Thanks Bob, will check the site and make note of the mix and give it a try to check the possible match with the decal. Thanks again. Jim

This is a kind of roundabout way to get an answer but MEC Harvest Yellow is supposed to be a dead on match for Santa Fe reefers and the Santa Fe Paint and Lettering guide shows a mix of (Scalecoat) 1 reefer yellow #15 to 4 reefer orange #16
