Amtrak's Dash 8-32BHW's
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 8:57 AM
Hi from England [:)] when were Amtrak's GE Dash 8-32BHW's pulled from regular train haulage in the So CA area. I have seen pictures of them on the Southwest Chief in the "pepsi can" livery but I have only seen them recently as drawback loco's at LA Union Station. Were they still being used in the late 90's in phase IV livery. The only ones I am aware of pulling passenger duty are the two pulling Amtrak's Capitols/San Joacin trains. Any help or links would be most greatful.

I'm not totally sure about this, but I think that the Phase IV ones are used for yard duties in Los Angeles. I know for a fact that sometimes you will see the IV ones on the Coast Starlight, which runs from Los Angeles to Seattle.

Hope this helps,

Sean
