Ryan,
I lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a short time then moved back to Texas. While in Albuquerque I visited a small town by the name of Belen. Belen is just below Albuquerque on Interstate 25. If I recall correctly it's about a 30 minute trip form Albuquerque. Belen has an old train station (Santa Fe) which is open to the public. When I was there in 2000 the local train club had a display there. I was told that this yard was now used for fueling purpopes mainly. I was also told that around a 150 engines pass through this yard in a 24 hour period. I never stayed that long but back in 2000 I spent several hours at this yard and saw lots of traffic passing through at a low rate of speed. I really enjoyed my visits there. I don't know how the traffic is now (2005) but I bet there is still a lot of traffic. If you're in that area I think it would be worth your time to stop in Belen.

Have fun,

26115
San Antonio, TX
