[?] How was Butane and other bottled gases shipped by rail before the giant 33,000 gallon cars now out there? Does anyone make a kit that can be "bashed"?

If you want a less expensive model, try kitbashing an Athearn "Chemical Tank Car", 1549 series for kits and 7275 series for RTR (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Search/Default.aspx?SearchTerm=chemical+tank&OverallCatID=T&CatID=THR&SearchType=Standard&BrandID=ATH).
