C&O Passenger engines

I am planning to model several different passenger trains in the Cincinati area....(NYC,PRR,the Nickel Plate, N&W, and C&O) around 1955. I purchased two E-7 A units (proto 2000) a couple of years ago. I need to know if the C&O ran B units on its passenger trains, and generally what kind of equipment they ran in this area of the country at that time. Thanks in advance for your replies[:)]

I just checked the C&OHS website (http://www.cohs.org/index.htm) and there's no mention of E b-units anywhere on it. Most photos of C&O passenger trains show a single E7 or E8 and a few cars. I'm not saying that the C&O didn't own any, but they weren't common.

The NKP didn't make it to Cincinatti. Closest it got was Cambridge City in Indiana.

No E B units on C&O for the most part C&O passenger trains were pulled by EMD E8A units they owned but they did own E7A units 95-98 and 101-108
E8A units were numbered 4000 - 4030
FP-7 8000-8015
F7B 8500-8506

C&O also used geeps on passenger trains such as the one that ran on the Hot Springs branch.

The B&O main line to St. Louis also went thru Cincinnati. Also the L&N and, I believe, Southern served Cincy.

The Cincinnati Railroad Club will be hosting tours of CUT (Cincy Union Terminal) during the 2005 NMRA Convention in July. If you go, I'm sure they can answer your questions in more detail.

Wouldn't the geeps have steam boilers in the short hood for train heat? High short hoods?

C&O geeps had high short hoods. s/g's were in them.
