Anyone have a source for these, interested in the C-30-1 class specifically for an S scale Kitbash. Any leads appreciated. Lacking plans, one is available as a HO model, any thoughts on aquiring one to use as a guide?

I model in HO so I do not have much knowledge of "S" scale Stuff. But I do model
"ESPEE" in 1952. I hope this helps some, but the 1981 SOUTHERN PACIFIC
REVIEW by Joseph A. Strapac has great info on cabooses. There are great photo's
and a roster. It mostly deals with steel cars (Cupola & Bay window). But there is a great drawing (plans) of a C-40-3. Car #1094-1099,1140-1143, & 1190-1199 were built in
1941-42. These had the Allied Full-Cushion Trucks until 1949-50. There are only
a couple of pictures of C-30-1 cars. I have yet to come across any in depth info
on the wood cars. It's possible that the "SP" Historical Society my have some info.
It wouldn't hurt to check, but if they do, you most likely will have to become a member to
get this info. I think member ship would be well worth it. YEAH!! I think I'll join. Hope this helps.

I think my wife called me one day and asked if I wanted this book. Based on her discription I said no. [D)] It's not very often the little woman incourages this kind of thing.
I guess I'll know better next time.[banghead]

Hi West Coast S,
I model SP in HO and N scale, I don't have plans but I always go to this great website for references on Diesels, Boxcars,Cabooses and other items. It's http://espee.railfan.net/espee.html. It does talk about the C30-1 and other Cabooses!
Enjoy! [tup]

Thanks for the leads, time to update the library and raid the hobby shop. Thanks to all who are keeping the memory of the SP alive through scale modeling.
